My husband and I live on a 10-acre farm with our flat-coated retriever (Oslo) and our feisty born-in-a-barn cat (Boda). Though we certainly don't use all of those ten acres for our garden, we do have some ambitious plots. We love to eat good, tasty, local food and what's more local than the back yard? I am no longer a novice gardener, but I am certainly NOT an expert. I am continuing to learn, especially since each growing season is different in Maine from year to year. My hope is that this blog entertains but also inspires people to plant even so much as an herb garden in their kitchen window. There's nothing more gratifying than eating what you've grown. There's a respect that is gained for the food we eat. The food we eat should be whole, unprocessed and certainly not wasted. Cheers!
