Cheers to 2011!

Giddyup growers and eaters!

I just put a bunch of stuff in the garden today! We are off to the races. The only remaining veg, are corn, tomatoes, peppers (bell and hot), oregano, rosemary, thyme...

I LOVE this time of year! :) I am dreaming of a delicious salad!

May Day!

This past weekend was gorgeous. I feel really good about the garden this year. It hasn't taken quite as much effort to get it set up as it did last year and I feel like I am ahead and ready for planting (unlike last year). Being a new garden there are still a lot of weeds that need to be tended to in comparison to a well-established garden, but in general, the plots are ready to rock.

My husband, the best manure shoveler north of Cumberland County, shoveled the neighbors horse manure into the back of three-week-old pick up on Sunday. That mixed with some left over chicken poopoo from last year, I've got the compost down.

We've decided to go with an all herb/greens garden next too the barn. I put dividers into the garden to separate the different types of herbs.

Lastly, I have some more weeding to do and a few more fences and then we're ready for planting and thus growing. Yeeha!

Happy Growing,
