April Showers ...

It has been a wet, cold April. I only just saw the first shoot of asparagus yesterday. I hope in the coming days there will be others that follow. Other things that coming up in the garden:

garlic - shoots are about 8" high
parsnips - still making our way through the spring batch - sweet and delicious
mint - holy mint! Is mint an herb or a weed? Cause it grows like a weed.

I've planted so far this spring in the ground:
red/gold potatoes, spinach, strawberries.

Today I planted the last of the seedling indoors. I am hoping they'll be ready for the garden come memorial day weekend or the weekend afterward. Yesterday, I spent the day tilling the big garden and cleaning it all up. Next weekend I plan on getting the fencing and what not back in top top shape.

I am inspired to map things out. I'll let you know what this year's map looks like. I can't believe it's that time again! Even though I had such a great growing season last year and I learned SO much, I am still nervous and worried that i won't get the potatoes/onions to grow again. We'll see.

Happy growing!

GARLIC!

I uncovered the mulch this morning on the garlic I planted last October and I have LOVELY green shoots about 3-4 inches high. Giddy-up garlic lovers!

Happy growing! The season begins once again.
